This book is about a girl called Charlie(Charlotte) she lives with her mum in a small flat. They don't have a lot of money so her mum(Jo) has three jobs so she can pay the mortgage. The main part of the story is about a little boy Robin who Jo looks after. He runs away partly because of something Charlie said to him. They find him but he isn't well and Charlie feels really bad.She gets upset at school to do with him being unwell. Her teacher cheers her up. Charlie is very surprised as her teacher is usually very mean and grumpy.
I liked the book but it wasnt the best book I've read partly because I didnt like the way the book jumped between the story and her victorian project. My favourite part of the book was when Robin ranaway, as it was exciting and I wanted to keep reading to find out what happened next.My favourite characters where Charlie,Miss Beckworth and Jamie a boy in her class, because they made the story exciting.I think people my age or between ten to twelve might like it.

This book is about a girl called, Andrea. Her mum and dad split up and she is forced to choose where to live. She doesn't know where to go but she knows that she really wnats to live in her old house Mulberry cottage with her mum and dad and sift toy Raddish. It comes to the agreement that she will take it in turns on where she will take it in turn on where she lives but she can't help getting into trouble at her mums house. I rreally enjoyed this book because it was very descriptive and it made you feel part of the story. My favourite character was Cyrstal(Andrea's stepsister) because she was really nice to Andrea and tried to make her feel part of the family. My favourite event was when Andrea ranaway, I couldn't put the book down until I knew what was going to happen to her. I think this book is suitable for girls over eight years old.

"The Diamond Girls"
By Jacquline Wilson.

Dixie lives with her 3 sisters and her mum. Her mum gets pregant again. Her mum decides to move house before the baby comes. Her mum phones her dad to see if he can help them move their furniture. He cannot so his friend Bruce helps them instead. They move to the Planet Estate. Their mum has the baby. Martine leaves to go back to Bletchworth. Dixie meets Mary.
I really enjoyed this book. I found it exciting. It was hard putting the book down because it was so good. My favourite character was Dixie. She was my favourite characte because she was vry adventurous and full of excitement. My favourite part of the book was when Dixie and Mary met. It was my fvourite part because I felt so happy Dixie had met a new friend already.
I would recommend this book to children age 10 and over because it is a bit too hard for under that age to understand.
