Malorie Blackman was born in London in 1962. After leaving school she had various jobs then settled in a career in computing. In 1990 she published her first novel and has written 50 books since then. Her most famous book, Noughts and Crosses, is now seen as a modern classic. It is a science fiction story that deals with issues of racism and terrorism.
The Library has the books in the Nought & Crosses series and others including ANTODITE, Dangerous Reality, Words Last Forever.

Pig Heart Boy by Malorie Blackman
Cameron is 13 and is at the pool with his friends.He has a heart condition and starts drowning.Cameron just goes home.He walks in the front door and can hear his mum and dad arguing about him getting a pigs heart.Dr Bryce comes to their house and talks to Cameron about getting a pigs heart and if he wanted to be the first human to get one. Cameron tells his best friend that he is getting a pigs heart and he was shocked.Dr Bryce comes to the house again for the final decision which was a yes and Cam , his mum and dad get to meet Trudy, the pig that he is getting the heart from.When they go and vist Trudy , mum annouces that she is pregnant. Camerons teacher tells everyone about Cam getting a heart transplant and he has to do a speech infront of the class. He makes a tape for his new brother/sister incase he isnt alive when it is born. He packs his bags for going into the hospital and goes to a private one. The operation is over and he sees that someone told the newspapers that he was getting a heart from a pig. There is press following him everywhere. When he goes back to school some people dont talk to him. He goes swimming al, the time but he nearly drowned and Marlon had to save him. He went back to hospital and got told That he needed another transplant but he refuses and wants to live the reast of his life with the pigs heart. His gran dies and he couldnt stop crying. He makes a last video for Alex , his new brother or sister , telling him about his life.
The book I have read is Thief by Malorie Blackman.This book is about a girl named Lydia,who has moved from London with her family to Tarwich.
At school she wants to fit in with a group of girls.So this girl Anne says to be part of the gang,she needs to steal the sports cup.She comes close to stealing the cup.Though she decides she just couldn t.
The next day the headmaster calls her to talk to him.He says the cup was found in Lydias locker.Lydia didn t steal the cup,someone must of planted it there.
Lydias life turns into a nightmare.Everybody at school thinks shes a thief.She has no friends, and people even painted paint on her mum and dads car.
The pressure gets too much ,and Lydia runs away .She goes to the moors,and when she goes there she travels into the future.
In the future, the town is terrible.It is run by her brother who is evil to all the people that live there.She knows what she has to do to make the future better.Though to do that she needs to get back to her own time.An what an adventure she has doing so
In the end she gets back.An manages to make Anne confess she planted the cup in Lydias Locker.Lydia is now much more happier.Good book! I would recommend this book to people in my class.
